Fructose Intolerance

Fructose, or fruit sugar, is a naturally occurring sugar that is used as a sweetener in many foods, including many baby foods. Man-made fructose is also used as a sweetening ingredient in many foods.

Individuals with fructose intolerance may experience severe abdominal pain, bloating, diarhhea or constipation after ingesting food or drinks containing this sugar. These painful symptoms may be greatly diminished if fructose intolerance is detected, and an appropriate dietary regimen is followed.
